Ele nasceu em Piracuruca, em uma família tradicional do Piauí, e veio cedo para Teresina, onde começou trabalhando no rádio e se projetou como empresário do ramo de diversões.
Pelas suas mãos, os principais artistas brasileiros dos últimos 50 anos subiram ao palco, em Teresina e em várias cidades do Nordeste e do Norte do Brasil.
A lista é encabeçada pelo rei Roberto Carlos, que desde o início de sua luminosa carreira fez na cidade incontáveis shows organizados por ele.
Também trouxe outro rei, o do Baião, Luiz Gonzaga, para várias temporadas no Piauí. E ainda Waldick Soriano.
É extensa a relação de grandes astros da música que fizeram grandes shows em Teresina sob a sua batuta.
Espírito jovem
Claro que me refiro ao radialista e empresário Raimundo Magalhães, que marcou época também com a sua banda “Os Cartolas”, que tanto sucesso fez nas décadas de 70 e 80 do século passado.
Jogando em todas as pontas, também trouxe ao Piauí o craque Mané Garrincha para jogar em Oeiras.
Magalhães não chegou a ter um milhão de amigos, como Roberto, seu ídolo (e também nosso).
Mas, pelo seu jeito simples, cativante, correto, alegre, prestativo, discreto, que vibra com o sucesso dos outros, construiu uma legião de amigos de fé, como ele também. Estou entre eles.
Não parece, mas o empresário Raimundo Magalhães, o “Magalhães dos Cartolas”, chega hoje aos seus 80 dezembros. Deve ser o vibrante espírito udenista da juventude que o mantém com cara de 70.
Parabéns, grande Magalhães! Que sua vida se prolongue por muitos e muitos anos, cheia de graça!
